KNOXVILLE — WGU Tennessee — a nonprofit, online university that is part of Gov. Bill Haslam’s Drive to 55 effort – surprised a Knox County Schools teacher with a $10,000 scholarship.

Dogwood Elementary first-grade teacher Amy Long learned that she had won WGU Tennessee’s Tenn-K Scholarship during the school’s end-of-year awards ceremony to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of students. Long was surprised with a commemorative check from WGU Tennessee Chancellor Dr. Kim Estep.
